he Domaine Félines Jourdan is in the Jourdan family since 1983. The richness of different grape varieties, local soils and methods of vinification, together with a blend of tradition and technology, give the wines their complexity and originality.

The richness of the domaine is coming from its different local soils. The domaine de Félines, is a plain which gently slopes down to the "Bassin de Thau". The soil is mainly clay and chalk. The Mediterranean sea caresses the vines on hot summer nights with moist breezes ; the vines enjoy mild temperature variations and low rainfall.

The Cadastres, at 2 km in the north, is the higher plateau of the appellation Picpoul de Pinet ; here the vines overlook the Mediterranean sea. A variety of different soils : white and chalky, red and gravelly.

La Coulette, at 3 km on the  Nord of the second, is on the east slope of a long hill, the soil, dating back to the Jurassic period, is red and composed of a mixture of gravel and quartz. The AOC Picpoul vines are planted near the pine-forest and therefore benefit from its protection from the north and south winds : the "Mistral" and the "Marin". The red AOC vines are on the top of La Coulette, named "la Boule" because of the scrubland which has no protection from the wind ; it looks like a bald head. Here the soil is red with a lot of gravel.

  10 grape varieties are cultivated on the estate. It give a pallette of aromas at our blend wines. For the whites, we have :piquepoul, chardonnay, sauvignon, roussanne, muscat ; for the reds : syrah, grenache, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, cinsault. Today, 110 hectares of vineyard are planted ;6000 hectoliters are vinified, including 1500 hl of AOC Picpoul de Pinet. The other wines are produced as grapes wines, wines of the Pays d'Oc.

        Every year, the estate folow the new technology, and use it with its traditionnal method. The cellar has inox tank with temperature controlled, pneumatic press, climatised stock cellar, bootling line machine... Near the Bassin de Thau and a birds reserve, we are deeply concerned about environmental issues. Since 1999, all the cellar effluents are treated in a evaporation basin.

         Traditionnal vinification, and the passion of a family winemakers, gives unique wine : the wines of the Domaine Félines Jourdan.
